Earthing & Bonding Surveys
Earthing and bonding are the principal protective measure of fault protection against electric shock (automatic disconnection of supply). The requirements are embodied in the relevant parts, chapters and sections of BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (IET Wiring Regulations, Seventeenth Edition).
Information Technology (IT) equipment and environments presents special difficulties for electrical installations. Although specific guidance is given within BS7671 for IT intensive environments, such as computer rooms and data centres etc, many electrical designers are not familiar with this guidance.
Our consultants have extensive experience to provide advice on earthing and bonding techniques and also offer a survey service to establish the requirements for a new installation or the suitability of an existing installation.
