ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is defined as the ability of a device, equipment or system to function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without introducing intolerable electromagnetic disturbance to anything in that environment.
EMC deals with problems of noise emission as well as noise immunity of electronic and electrical products and systems. EMC disturbances are generated as ‘emissions’ either conducted (along cables) or ‘radiated’ through air. According to standards, equipment may have to be designed and installed to withstand, or be immune to, these radiated or conducted emissions and also, according to standards, limit the amount that is radiated or conducted by them to be compatible with other equipment.
Trans-Euro is able to conduct EMC surveys to establish if an installation or its equipment are likely to be the cause of any EMC issues.
